Drainage Work Being Done After Rains
Crews are doing drainage work on Lanes Mill Road after torrential rains ripped through the area, according to a post from Brick's Facebook page.
A status update from the township's Facebook page reads: "All southbound traffic on Lanes Mill will be detoured to Sally Ike Road. Northbound lanes on Lanes Mill will remain open."
Earlier, township officials also reported flooding on Chambers Bridge, but the road is now passable.
Rainfall amounts in some areas of Ocean County reached as high as six inches, said Mitchell Gaines, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Mount Holly. Officials with the NWS, meanwhile, are trying to determine whether it was a tornado that ripped through sections of Stafford Township and Long Beach Island earlier today.
