Charitable Assistance Available for Brick Sandy Victims

Assistance will be means test for low and moderate income families

Brick Township has been granted over $650,000 in charitable assistance for residents of the township to receive either, up to a combined $10,000 in housing rehabilitation assistance to re-occupy their primary residence and/or support for shelter, food, clothing and/or rental assistance due to the community impact from Hurricane Sandy.

Requests for housing rehabilitation assistance will require all residences pass a structural inspection prior to funds being committed through the program.

To be considered eligible for the program, the combined family income must not exceed the following limits:

  • Family of five $78,962
  • Family of six $84,811
  • Family of seven $90,660
  • Family of eight $96,509

Also, all applicants must prove that all other avenues of funding relief have been pursued and that the amount of funds available will achieve the full expectations of the program for re-occupancy or short-term support.

Rehabco, which will administer the housing rehabilitation portion of the support program can be reached at 732-477-7750. Visitation Relief Center and Catholic Charities will be responsible for the monetary support aspect of the program, and can be reached at 732-746-3456. Both organizations are located at 721 Mantoloking Road in Brick.

All applicants will also be screened for any un-reported assets, additional sources of income and other forms of charitable sources.
