Brick OEM Predicts 6 Inches of Snow, 10-Degree Temperatures

In its latest post to residents, Brick Township Office of Emergency Management offered a blizzard prediction of 6-9 inches of snow for the region, followed by an extreme cold snap that could see temperatures drop to 10 degrees by Saturday.

Brick also reminded residents that if and when snow begins to accumulate, residents should remove vehicles and other property from their curbs in order to help the snow plows pass.

Here is the complete post from Brick Township from overnight:

Snowstorm late Thursday night and Friday morning. Snow, high winds and temperatures near 10 degrees

Blizzard conditions.

Light precipitation during the day on Thursday. Heavy Thursday night. NE winds of 20mph to 30mph with gusts to 40mph on Thursday. After midnight, temperatures will plummet to around 10 degrees. Snow, heavy at times, continues.

Snow will likely taper off and end by mid- morning Friday. High winds and low temperatures will continue causing blowing and drifting of snow through the day on Friday.

Outdoor activities and travel is highly discouraged from late evening Thursday through the early morning hours on Friday. Visibility will be very low along with bitter cold wind chills.

Snow accumulations of 6 to 9 inches are now expected across the entire region except 3 to 6 inches south of a line from Philly to Atlantic City.

There remains the potential for slightly higher amounts if the storm reaches its full potential.

Below zero temperatures are likely by daybreak on Saturday.
