Brick Elks to Present 'Truth About Drugs' Seminar Featuring Prosecutor, Police Chief

From Brick Elks Lodge No. 2151:

On April 6, the Brick Elks Drug Awareness Committee, will present a free seminar “The Truth About Drugs” at the Brick Elks Lodge #2151 located at 2493 Hooper Avenue, between 2PM-4PM. The seminar will address the rising drug epidemic in the community. 

Speakers will include Brick Mayor John G Ducey, Brick Police Chief Rick Bergquist, Lieutenant of Drug Enforcement of Brick Police Joseph Forester, Executive of Seashore Family Services Roberto Flecher and Special Guest Speaker, Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.  Lite refreshments will be served.

The Brick Elks Drug Awareness Committee participates in many local events throughout the year including Brick Townships National Night Out Against Crime. It is a part of the Elks National Drug Awareness Program which strives to teach all children and parents about the dangers of illegal drug use and to prevent the abuse of legalized and prescription drugs. 

Since 1982 the Elks have developed an effective, community based drug prevention program by partnering with federal and local agencies to ensure that it addresses the leading drug abuse issues facing communities today.   As the largest volunteer drug awareness program in the United States, it relies on state, district and lodge volunteers to promote a drug-free lifestyle by inspiration and education.
