Brick: Family-Friendly Beaches

Seasonal badges $25 before June 15

Brick boasts three family-friendly beaches on the Barnegat Peninsula, with one set aside for fishing.

Beaches are guarded from June 11 through Labor Day. Lifeguards are posted on weekends starting on Memorial Day and continuing through Sept. 16.

Seasonal badges are $25 before June 15 and $30 after June 15 and are good for Brick Township’s three ocean beaches along Route 35 and the bathing area at Windward Beach Park on Princeton Avenue. A daily wristband is $5. There are no weekly badges sold. Children under 12 are admitted free.

Beachgoers who turn 65 before Sept. 1 can access the beach for free. A birth certificate or valid driver's license is required.

Three paid parking lots (one at Beach III, one at Beach I and another in the center median of Route 35) are available. The cost for a seasonal parking permit is $30, and metered parking is $1 per hour. Seniors citizens can get a parking permit for $15.

Badges and parking stickers can be purchased at the township recreation office at Civic Plaza, 270 Chambers Bridge Road.

Maybe the Rec. department can do for the VETS what they do for the 65 and older crowd. give them and or their families free beach passes and parking?

Last year we purchased a parking permit. After about a month, a woman on the beach said they (the patrolmen) said it would not be enforced for the handicapped. Before I bought the permit, I asked about the handicapped situation. At that time they said it would not be honored. I'd hate to pay the fee again only to find out that they will honor the placard.

Why is the parking permit more money then the beach permit ?
stopbyichabtit June 2, 2012 at 02:24 pm
@ maureenbrady, Because the township has to recup some of the $ for the 90,000 shotting range for the BPD & all the retiring Township workers that banked all there sick days so they get paid for them after they retire. ... & Bet those retired workers arent paying for a badge or parking..

Can anyone tell me what is going on at Bayside Beach in Brick? Why are they removing the playground equipment? Will they be replacing the equipment in the near future?
