Zoning Hearing On Brick Boulevard Multi-Family Development Set For Wednesday

Brick will mark the 12th Anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks with a special remembrance ceremony

The Board of Adjustment will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. to decide whether to lift the age restriction on 120 multi-family units being built at 135 Brick Boulevard, and make the homes rental units.

The project is called The Boulevard at Brick.

According to a public notice on the proposal: "135 Brick Boulevard, LLC has applied to the Brick Township Board of Adjustment for conversion pursuant to N.J.S. 45:22A-46.6 from an age restricted community to a non-age restricted community at property located at 135 Brick Boulevard, also known as Block 381, Lot 2 in the Township of Brick.

Alternatively, the applicant seeks amended preliminary and final major site plan to permit amendments to a previously approved project so as to allow for the construction of 120 multi-family dwelling units along with associated improvements.

Alternatively, the applicant also seeks use variance approval so as to eliminate the previous age restriction requirement and to make additional modifications to the site amenities including but not limited to reducing the size of the proposed clubhouse and swimming pool, eliminating the gatehouse and bocce ball court, increasing the clubhouse/pool buffers, addition of a pad for the pool equipment along with minor revisions to the proposed building exteriors."

The Township of Brick will mark the 12th Anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks with a special remembrance ceremony and candlelight vigil on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 6 p.m. at Windward Beach Park.
