Energy Assistance, Council Meeting Today

Council meets at 7 p.m.

Energy costs can add a significant burden to family budgets. And New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) wants to connect qualified families with energy-assistance and home energy-improvement programs to help them better manage their home heating costs.

On October 1, 2013, the federally funded Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will begin accepting applications for the 2013-2014 heating season. LIHEAP and the state’s Universal Service Fund (USF) provide benefits to supplement the cost of utility bills for eligible moderate- and limited-income households.

NJNG will host Energy Assistance Days in Brick on Tuesday, September 10, 9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., at the  Visitation Relief Center, 721 Mantoloking Road, with representatives on hand to answer questions and offer personal assistance in the application process.

Also on Tuesday, the Brick Township Council meets at the township municipal building at 7 p.m.
