Notaries in Ocean County are given a Notary Public Manual upon taking the Oath of Office. This Oath of Office makes several statement of duties. These duties are not completely covered. To-days notary needs to seek out further education. Notaries are a vital public function. Notaries are called to perform valuable services for many businesses, legal and financial communities and respond to the personal needs of individuals. This course is designed for Notaries - notaries that are self employed or employed by companies offering or needing notarial services. Employers are responsible for the education of their notaries. The BANK OF AMERICA NA v. BIRD, Appellate Court of Illinois, 5th District; 07.08.2009 doc #5-08-0188 noted that employers are responsible for educating their notaries. This ruling should put all notaries on notice to seek out notary training for their own protection, particularly if their employers do not make it available. I have had notaries call and ask how to I.D. individuals. Others want to know if the SS mean my social security number. Can I notarize my mother/father/son etc. Education is a valuable and serious tool. Employers of Notaries and Mobil Notaries please seek out notary education. Invest in your self.
