As for down here, we need all the local "boots on the ground" support we can garner. Read MoreMany believe in what we're up to...we need them to help out spreading the word, beginning in September. I will be in DC next week on the Schools issue with fellow candidate, Allen J Cannon - CD12 - who is speaking at a National Rally of educators. I've been offered the opportunity to speak, as well, but our message is the same, so I politely declined. I'm there for the students and the teachers - not the press.

Frederick, I'm glad to hear you support educator's. I'm a retired teacher from Union City, I worked Read Morethere for 33 years, I also lived there most of my life, although my family always had a home in Brick (yes, I grew up with Bob Menendez he's in my age group , I think he is 2 or 3 years older than I am). I am so sick and tired of public workers getting maligned, as if it were their fault that we have this pension mess in NJ. I have always leaned a bit to the left politically, but I realize it's time to move more towards the middle. The 2 parties have just become too extreme and are accomplishing absolutely nada, they are actually doing more harm than good!
Union City, home of the world's tallest watersphere! My great-grandparents on my father's side all Read Moresettled in Newark after coming to the US...all four are at Holy Sepulcher on South Orange Avenue. When I was in research and teaching at RWJMS at South Orange and Bergen, I used to pass the "sphere" (and the graveyard) twice a day. What a God-awful commute. I would carry my 12-string in the car and play it in traffic with the neck out the window - because you COULD. Your neighbor in Brick, Tracy Caprioni, is our Freeholder Candidate - an educator in Asbury Park schools. I and my fellows have stood up for the teachers, the police/corrections officers, and the CWA workers time and time again. Now, many of them are standing with us. Want in?

Hopefully, Governor Christie will remember his words as quoted in the NY Times Feb. 12, 2014Read Morewherein he stated: "...Americans do not want income equality, suggesting it is antithetical to the country's abiding belief in 'income opportunity' that rewards hard work and merit." If he truly believes that income opportunity is born from 'hard work and merit,' he cannot in good faith sign a bill that promotes such an egregious sense of entitlement.
