A clever idea that I saw was to fill up gallon size zip lock bags and freeze them...use it to keep the fridge cool a little while longer if the power goes :)

Something I did was I cranked the freezer and fridge on the coldest setting as well...not sure how wise that is but again just in anticipation of what may come...may God protect us all!!!

Jake, I put water bottles in the freezer, same concept, and also turned it up all the way. Also, if you have not done it yet, get your emergency phone numbers NOW for cable, electric, gas, what have you. I had cable go out once already and was kicking myself for not having the number or my acct number handy.

1-800-COMCAST for cable, the number with my electric bill is 1-888-544-4877, for JCP&L.

if you access to ice fill up the bathtub with ice and then you could put all of your cold stuff in there. also if you have a bbq grill put it in the garage so that when you need it for cooking purposes all you have to do is open the garage door instead of going out in the pouring rain and high winds to cook food. Also treat this storm like New Orleans didnt so that the reports dont make us New Jersians look like dumbasses. Just stay calm and stay prepared
