Shouldn't he be charged with more than that? What about the cost of all of the emergency personnel/vehicles that responded? Disturbing the peace and trespassing maybe should be added? I hope he's been brought to a crisis center for evaluation as well, before he tries this again on a higher bridge.

Not to kick off a whole debate over this but more people butt in,stick their nose in where it doesn't belong or concern themselves w/ saving people from killing themselves,but when it comes to allowing an abortion to take place many see no wrong w/killing an innocent being. I agree with a lot of the comments about this person wasting emergency resources, but has anyone considered this person to be sick? Whether he IS an alcoholic as alluded to, or simply mentally ill, why kick him while he is down? Before anyone responds as if I knew this guy, I didn't, but I do have empathy for somone who is sick. Would you be so critical of a diabetic whose blood sugar went low and wandered around in the street causing traffic backups? Just think about it - anyone could end up in a similar situation.

@clarence that's a valid point i'm just trying to give police the benefit of the doubt that they didn't see a suicidal man and "kick him while he was down" by arresting him. if he really was "sick" than i hope he gets the help he deserves and doesn't end up in a prison. if he did it for thrills or because of alcohol than he deserves to be arrested. like i said i personally am going off the assumption and trying to give the police the benefit of the doubt they didn't see an upset crying man on a canal and put him in handcuffs.
