Two Arrested in Assaults at Mansion Nightclub

Bouncer, customer both charged in aggravated assault; Cops: female struck police officer

An employee of the Mansion nightclub in Brick Plaza is facing an aggravated assault charge after police say he threw a man to the ground, seriously injuring him.

Esteban Chavez-Mata, 29, of Toms River, was escorting a patron of the club outside early Sunday morning when witnesses say he threw the customer to the ground, causing the victim to land on his head, according to police.

Sgt. Keith Reinhard said witnesses told officers Chavez-Mata had the customer in a headlock as he was escorting him out.

"The victim suffered head trauma and was bleeding profusely," said Reinhard, in a statement. "Police who were already on scene, due to the large gathering, immediately began treating the victim."

Eventually, Brick Police EMS and MONOC paramedics brought the victim to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for treatment of his head injuries. His current condition was not immediately available.

Another woman at the scene was also arrested for aggravated assault on a police officer.

As police were rendering first aid to the victim, a woman identified as Allison Arias, 23, of Bradley Beach, was attempting to get near the victim, Reinhard said.

"She was ordered to stay back, as the police were attempting to control the large crowd that had gathered," said Reinhard, but at that point, she assaulted Officer Joe Pacitti by striking him in the head.

Arias was charged with aggravated assault, processed on a warrant, and had bail set by Municipal Court Judge Robert Lepore at $30,000 cash.

Chavez-Mata was also processed on a warrant and had bail set at $15,000 cash.

Neither Chavez-Mata nor Arias were listed as inmates at the Ocean County Jail, according to jail records.

Maybe this nightclub could be a banquet hall again and move in with the new condos they want on Rt 70.This way a police substation could be build in the same location.

There has to be a way the town could close this down through either ABC laws or nuisance and danger issues.

Either way, keep locking up the staff, and make it so that no one can move in or out of the place without a summons for something and it will go away itself.

Demand because of the re-occuring issues that they hire 5 cops each night on overtime and make other costly improvements. Harass the building owner..

The place is in our town and all the problems occur with people from other towns. That's great.

All these people and no cell phone videos? ? Something is not right there....Our police work very hard in this town to keep the crime at a minimum. If they have to continually go to a place because of stabbings and shootings, I say do whatever it takes to prorect themselves and the innocent bystanders. Obviously this "patron" was causing trouble. It could get very ugly quickly if it is not dealt with immediately. The bouncers are hired for a reason...this person was more than likely giving the bouncer a hard time. Obey the rules and you don't get hurt.

being a bouncer does not give you the right to beat the snot out of someone when in the process of removing them from the establishment, even in self defense.

it sounds like this club is out of control and is becoming a regular place for the wrong type of crowd.

Maybe make this should be Brick Resident only ... Seems that people from out of town like to come here cause trouble & put a bad reputation on establishment here... cause trouble in your own town business... I have a 21,18 & 16 yr old... & have never went there since its become a nightclub. We have lived in Brick for 15 yrs & have never been a place where my kids/ or their friends ever hung out at.

What I find amusing is the fact that someone is blaming the bouncer. The guy was drunk n was man handling a lady there. The bouncers told him to stop and one got punched by the man. Obviously if the only way u can control someone that is swinging to him was a headlock. If the man hit his head when he was thrown out it is not fully the bouncers fault. It's his job to remove the problem. That's what he is paid for. Secondly why ice? I'm sry I didn't know there was a true thing as an American American unless u r Native American. This country is a melting pot. Every night club has there issue. I've been there n I had no issues with so called shootings or stabbings. N if there is every night club has there issues. U drink u dance u act a fool it's ur issue not the owners. Why does everyone blame someone else for what happens?

Actualy, it is a nice, cool, luxury , with various events, great music and no fights club. It was a bad accident this incident, where the unlucky customer was heavily drunk and he did not obey to the securities rules. It is a place that gives employment to many people and the ownership looks only how to entairtain customers better. I would personaly support this great place and the people who own it, because they have strong family values and principles!

chavez was actually the bouncer. the guy who's on life support and maybe dead now was not named. he was at my home once. seemed like a nice guy. probably just got too drunk. bouncer put him in choke hold til he passed out and then i guess threw him to the ground. probably should have just removed him as that is the job description. this guy was not a big guy... pretty short actually. seems like the bouncer took it a bit too far. should be held accountable.

All the problems have occurred on Latin/Mexican Saturdays. The American parties are really good on Fridays depending who is promoting it. I think the latin parties give mansion a bad reputation and this is why noone wants to go there. I used to go to mansion when it first opened like 5 or 6 years ago and it was really busy and now saturdays are terrible. So I prefer to go to some other places. Many of my friends work saturday mornings so they can only go out saturday night. Mansion is really close by so if management got rid of saturday latin parties altogether and just make american parties that place will be good again. I heard there is some guy fron Las Vegas that throws parties at mansion and they are really good.I may have to check it out.
