Brick Man Assaulted Officer, Indictment Charges

Ocean County grand juries hand up indictments

 

A Brick man faces charges after scuffling with a township officer in August.

Brian J. Lobue, 28, of Route 88 was indicted by an Ocean County grand jury last week on aggravated assault and resisting arrest charges after an altercation Aug. 30 with Patrolman Scott Smith.

Lobue attempted to "cause bodily injury" to the officer while he was exercising his official duties, the indictment states.

He was released on a summons.

Grand juries also indicted:

  • Kevin T. Scott of Seaside Heights on drug charges. Scott, 23, was arrested Sept. 21 in Brick and accused of possessing oxycodone with the intent to sell it. He was released on a summons.
  • Torrey L. Walker of Asbury Park on a shoplifting charge. Walker, 37, was charged with stealing a television from the Brick Walmart store on Oct. 22, the indictment states. He was released on a summons.
  • John M. Cusanelli, 48, of Brick on drug charges. Cusanelli was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with possessing methadone and alprazolam. He was released on a summons.
  • A Toms River man and Asbury Park resident on drug charges. John A. Hernandez-Girling, 21, of Asbury Park was arrested Sept. 14 in Brick and charged with possesion of cocaine, as well as possession with intent to sell and distribution. Anthony R. Quintana of Kettle Creek Road in Toms River was charged with possession of cocaine. Both were released on a summons.

6 different persons named in this article, five different types of crimes (assault, resiting arrest, drug possession(s), intent to sell drugs and stealing a TV) and all were released on summons'? WOW. What's a person got to do to get locked up in this county?
