Toms River Police Arrest Man in Overnight Stabbing Incident
Alexander Ratych allegedly stabbed his friend three times in the stomach with a kitchen knife.
Toms River Police have arrested a suspect in the overnight stabbing of an unidentified 19-year-old Toms River man, Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said Sunday afternoon, Feb. 10.
Alexander Ratych, 19, was arrested by Officer Victor Tamaro at Ratych's Presidential Boulevard apartment Sunday morning, Mastronardo said. Ratych allegedly stabbed his friend three times in the stomach with a kitchen knife following an argument between the two, who were said to be hanging out together.
The victim was transported to Jersey Shore Trauma Center, where he underwent emergency surgery early Sunday morning, Mastronardy said. The victim is in good condition, according to Mastronardy.
Ratych was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held in Ocean County Jail on $35,000 full bail.
Police responded to the scene at 1:30 Sunday morning. The incident also took place at Presidential Boulevard, Mastronardy said.
Detective John Bajcic and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department are investigating this incident.

No one needs assault knives like this. They come in kitchen blocks of 6 or more. Why? Ban them now. There are over 20 bills in Trenton now to ban rifles. Why not kitchen knives? More crimes are committed with knives than rifles. Or at least require NICS check to buy one.

This boy was a classmate of my sons in fact they both were & this boy shouldn't have been living alone in his own apt., he needed supervision he's even slep over my home this is a shame but they all need prayer
