The Summerfest concert scheduled for Thursday night has been postponed due to expected inclement weather. The show has been rescheduled for Aug. 8.
Jimmy Buffett tribute band Jimmy and The Parrots was scheduled to take the stage. Fireworks were also planned. Both have been rescheduled.

It;s a Shame that a local themed news blog lists this event with no mention of the opening act that starts at 7:00 pm.. The opening act is a local legend "THE MANGOS"

I saw Yasgurs farm many times. The two things that I remember the most is Yasgurs playing Pink Floyds " Time " in Seaside Hts at Baby O's, in about 1980. I will never forget that. Awesome..
The other was at The Osprey in Manasquan in about 1990. I think the entire band quit except for the guitar player and he just did guitar solos until the owners shut him down for the night.
I have seen them many times in between and have seen the Mangos in all forms from southern Cross to the present. Hundreds of times. Sonny and Joe Pruit can play anything, any way, better than anyone. I would put them up against Clapton, or lenny or anyone else that you think is tops. The Pruit boys sure do get enough practice.
Go see them. You will thank me. Long live the Mango Bros. They aint dead yet.......
