Ya cant judge the entire town by a select few. This animal abuse has become an epidemic all over these United States of ours. People throw animals off bridges, out of cars and everything. Watching the news and reading newspapers and computers makes me sad any more, to see things happening to animals and kids and we have no control over it.

They reported a neighbor saying they could hear the dogs crying at Night last week. I hope the owners can be stuffed in a bag, starved, locked in a 5 by 5 cell with no barhroom and water. God will get them back, WhY goes around comes around.

The poor dog only had one life to live and those horrible people took it from him. Now what does the dog have left, but a year or two the most. Why is it that some dogs are so lucky and others get a life of hell. Poor sweet thing. I hope God has a special place for him.

We all are praying for a speedy healthy recovery and God will handle those abusers it just saddens me and sickens my stomach. All the world and facebook is praying for sammy and his brother. Love you both and God bless all the animal shelters and hospital.

I cannot comprehend how these 2 abusers can look at themselves in the mirror and sleep peacefully at night. The Morgans are very nice people.... ALL the Morgans are, and I've known them for many years. How Keith and Shauna allowed Samurai to get in this horrible condition, I can't answer... I didn't know they had a dog (haven't been to their house).

No, they are not "monsters", they made bad judgements concerning their pet. Its obvious they didn't INTENTIONALLY PHYSICALLY HARM their dog... it is a case of gross neglect which is different.

I agree, harm or neglect to an animal is deplorable and should be checked. However jail is not the answer; education is.

Where you ever "broke" and brought your dog into a vet? Have you ever experienced the amount of guilt they heap on you there? THEY (the vets and helpers) need to reign that in.... people fall on hard times and sometimes cannot afford vet care.

Lets do this: Lets find out if the Morgans brought Sammy into a vet previous to this event and lets find out what the vet said to them? Maybe that will explain why they neglected their dog.

Veterinarians will tell you to pay exorbitant money to heal your dog.... and when you can't afford it, that very same vet will tell you to "put the dog down" . Really? Thats Love? Seems to me that some people are not very good at reading or comprehending the actual original article and situation. Sammy was only in the plastic bag for transport to the Animal Hospital, Sammy was not found on the side of the road. We cannot assume why or how Sammy got to the terrible state that he was in. We were not there in the house. I am sure Keith and Shauna will explain the situation at the appropriate time to professional people whom are able to listen to reason.

Sure there are places to bring a dog that is ill. Why the dog was not brought there we don't know. Are we that fanatical that we don't even want to hear any explanation? Well, thats not how American law works. Sorry to tell you this, but we have a system here in America where accused people are allowed to have their say in court. YES, I agree they should have given the dog up earlier... why didn't they? We don't know; we will find out.

We read & understand fine. You are both full of crap. You want to defend people like that when the story is right there for all to see, BMG. The argument about expensive vet care being the reason for neglect is ridiculous. As many have pointed out, basic grooming and bathing are cheap and can be done at home. Taking the dog outside costs nothing. You can buy a leash at the Dollar store, as well as dog food. Vet care has absolutely NOTHING to do with this story.

I am not going to assume the why's and wherefores of why this couple did not bath or groom the dog, or whether or not they walked the dog or let the dog out to do his business. I'm sure the judge will ask them. I would also like to ask them these questions. My point here is not to exonerate them or condone their actions or inactions. My point here is to abate the character assassination of my friends without the details of the case being known. We can all surmise what went on, but we won't know the details unless we are in the courtroom and actually HEAR from them.

He WAS NOT in a plastic bag for transport. Keith Morgan DID tell AUTHOROTIES he found the dog on the side of the road. You have told us both of those FACTS didn't happen. Then you tell others they are misinformed on the facts of the case.

Run your jive/love for the Morgans elsewhere, tell your story walking. You, just as the Morgans keep changing your story in defense of them. BUT it should be common knowledge/sense that anyone that would keep an animal in the kind of condition the Morgans allowed Samuri to be in and then to bring the animal into a shelter with a complete fabrication of a story that the animal was "found" on the side of the road, left in a plastic bag to die. To then proceed to file completely false police reports as well stating the same thing are not "good people".

there is never a excuse to put an animal in a garbage bag, they did not want to dirty their clothing or touch him, yet they let him lie like that helpless and soiled. They did not even have the decency to wrap him in a blanket. They could have cared for him they choose not to, one day they will be old and need help I hope they get none.

Disgusting people, the only payback is to put them in garbage bags for awhile covered in their own filth, no food or water. Let's also remember all the dogs, cats and other animals getting experimented on in labs everyday. I personally don't want to see a single animal die to find a cure for a human disease. I'm confused why some people on here are defending these people and their character. The dog had burning to the skin from urine/feces. So this means that the dog was immobile at some point. This wasn't just like they ignored a dog that was wandering around unattended. They ignored the dog when he stopped being able to walk away from his own waste. I just don't see how anyone with a shred of decency can ignore any living creature at that point. My family had a dog when I was a kid, and did not have the $ to take her to regular vet visits (which I'm not condoning) but our dog was bathed and fed, and not left to waste away in her filth. One time she got out and was hit by a car. There was no way my parents could afford a vet visit, but they gave it no thought, and raced her to a vet ASAP. Because at that point, her life depended on it. I don't know what ever came of that bill...but I know my parents would never have let her die for fear of a bill. (She had to have her tail amputated, but otherwise she lived many years)

I get being broke. I don't get being heartless.
This really does speak to their character. How could it not? I agree, I currently have a small cat in one of my bathrooms. I saw it in the grass on the side of the road. One of its back legs is useless, I believe it was hit and somehow managed to survive. The cat has a flea collar on so it was someones pet at one time. This is not my animal and I still could not leave it. How the hell do you not get your own animal help..
