Route 88 Reopened After Accident

Dump truck hit GSP overpass

 

Route 88 and other local streets have reopened after a dump truck hit the Garden State Parkway overpass early Wednesday morning just after 3 a.m.

The roadway was closed between Jack Martin Boulevard and Chambers Bridge Road, according to Brick Police Capt John Rein, but is now reopened. The accident occurred within the borders of Lakewood, just east of the Ocean Lanes bowling alley, and Lakewood police are investigating the accident, Rein said.

Detours that were in place early Wednesday morning have been lifted.

We live in the neighborhood btwn 88 and Burrsville and we heard it, it even got the dog barking.
