Let's face it dragon fans, this may be the first winless season in brick history, If they don't beat wall next week, chances are they go 0-10. You can't play so many sophomores and expect to compete in a south, especially this year. I only hope that the kids keep fighting and can get through this without giving up. Dragons,keep giving it all you've got and NEVER GIVE UP.

Hey its great the kid is starting varsity as a soph. But. That's no different then the 7 yr old that plays with 9 and ten year olds. I just meant don't make excuses. Its sounds weak. The kids these days are babied enough. Great job. Play and work hard. Win some lose some. But please. NO EXCUSES!

If Dragons quarterback Joe Phillips had the Mustangs Mike Basile and Joe Hans on his team, no one would be complaing that Phillips is a sophomore. Dragons would be scoring plenty. The quarterback cant score without 10 other players and the qb certainly cant play defense. The dragons just are not that good. They are young and small and inexperienced this year, but wait until next year and the year after that. State champions I predict. Write it down.

NOT cool!! grow up, & If the best QB they have is a sophmore doesnt say much for the tean that was ahead of him. my son in his younger years ALWAYS had to play with kids two to 3 yrs older then him, making him a better player now, bcz he always had to fight to keep up with the extra experince the other kids had. @ denny, True But this is NOT any of those medias that you are speaking of. many of them make comments all day everyday, giving them plenty of time to stalk these kids.
Agee that People should not be using Children first & last names here. What if it was your son or daughter? especially if its negative comments. Iam sure that young man has enough pressure, maybe building him up & local support may help him instead of people saying negative things about him... GREEZ talk about cyper bullies! @Aqualung....they are all insane,there's no sense of arguing w/ people who can't make head or tails out of the situation. There are 36 names listed in the above article, but apparently specific players aren't suppose to be discussed...I guess unless a player was a complete stand out, having a fantastic year or even an incredible game, then I guess it would ok,because praise is king and commenting if a player had a bad showing would be wrong. Geeze.

@fixitright;
if I was an alumni attending the game and so n so player made an amazing catch, commenting that it was one of the best catches ever seen would be bad.
or if a linebacker had several sacks mentioning that would be bad. the same goes for a player who could of had a great game but he fumbled the ball everytime he was tackled. the press put the names in the paper,that makes it fair for all to comment anyway they choose,that's life,it's an open forum.
So then in the future,articles such as this one should be posted and closed w/o any option for readers to opine. Until then, it's fair to say comments good and negative are perfectly acceptable.

If a parent does not want their child's name or photo used or released for school or public news, there is a form they can fill out restricting use. If you do not want your kid's name or picture used, fill it out. The school sends them home with the students at the start of every school year. The choice is yours to make.

Lori, your missing the point, Its one thing for the ARTICLE to mention the names, not nameless people that hide behind a computer talking about children ( & honeslty that guy spends way to much time on here making comments about everything, just the type of person you would have your kids steer clear of.) YES a local newspaper, school news etc... as parents that have kids that play sports you know that part of it. people any random person making comments should not be using the kids 1st & last names ( maybe he dont have any & doesnt get that) you can make your point in the comment ( such as the QB for Brick Dragons, ) with out using his name. maybe his just jealous other then the police blotter his name was never printed in the newspaper?

Because I comment on the Patch you wouldnt want me around kids? Tell that to Denny D or the other teachers, coaches and politicians that comment here all the time. I dont drink, smoke or take drugs. Never did. I have 3 kids of my own. I know the player. I am friends with the player and his family and I was not insulting anyone until now. You are probably one of those 300lb heifers that I see waddling around the school games. So big and fat that you can barey walk or get up in the bleachers. Unfortunately, many people always have negative things to say when a player does not do well, it's human nature. What people are posting here are the same things others are saying, just not in a public forum behind a screen name like you have. The Big Problem is that many of these kids that play when they are young play daddy ball & are not coached correctly, kids are not in the right positions, you have kids that are starters that should not be & kids that have talent standing around, ( or fair kids but noone is coaching them) bcz their none of the coaches sons or sons friends. That NEEDS to stop by middle school & the kids need to be coached right & everyone should have a chance to show their talent, that doesnt happen, so by the time they get to HS many of them are not as seasoned as they should or could be, thats coaching not the kids.

The protection the kids receive also applies to their name being announced over the loud speakers or their names on any program. No parent wants to read that type of crap the person posted, but it will happen. The first postings mentioning the sophomore lead to the names of three players. If his team won, this would not even be an issue. Our Brick boys play as a team and they lost as a team. I say wait until the next game and kick some butt! Suck it up and move on, I am sure the team has.

freaks?! this is football. the discussion is football and the players,not how they look in their uniforms.
if this was an article about H.S. cheerleaders or gymnastics and people were making certain comments then i could see the reasoning behind the concern but the topic is FOOTBALL, the players and their performance.
are some of you really concerned someone is going to stalk a football player? really?
for those of you who are so concerned about about stalkers,freaks and the like,perhaps students shouldn't get their pictures in the paper or be highlighted on BTV {where their full name and color photo is posted for all to see} for their achievements.
