Seaside Heights announced that it's ready to move forward with the following plan/schedule that will allow limited access to the beachfront community, according to the town's website.
Anyone is allowed into Seaside Heights, without being stopped by officers at the bridge or at any entry points, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Any retail/entertainment businesses can be open during these same hours. "Let people come and go whether they’re here to work or just coming over to get a bite to eat," the website says.
Full access will be allowed Jan. 7. At any time by anyone, businesses can be open from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m., and people can live in any units that are ready.
Also:
- All residential rentals will be required to obtain a new rental CO prior to occupancy. The inspections for residential occupancy of any units will be done in a manner which "we can handle with our staff," according to the website.

Can we maybe get some information on what businesses may be reopening? Id certainly like to try to patronize them, and start to help RESTORE THE SHORE!

That is great news...Maybe some of the arcades that didn't get destroyed will open also...Lucky Leo's, Sonny + Ricky's, Coin Castle, Casino Arcade, loved going on weekends in winter for a few hrs..

Businesses can open, but I can't live there yet? Seems a little backwards to me and every other resident of seaside heights, I know for a fact residents of seaside heights are furious over this.

Gianssuck... Why is it backwards? Because homes are still deemed un-livable? If your home is in a condition which is able to be lived in, then you most certainly live in your home. Hence the sentence in the article that reads, "and people can live in any units that are ready."
calm down. jeez. Don't criticize business for trying to start making their living again being that they have been out of commission for 8 weeks.

Not True! I went over to support the local establishments by purchasing lunch and was turned away, being told by a State Trooper that only those who live there or are doing work are allowed in. He also said that the local food establishments are only open to people who work or live there....

I think it is a great sign of progress and one huge step closer to normalcy!! Full restoration will take a lot of time, patience and hard work but we're moving in the right direction!!

Seems insensitive to be worried about businesses reopening in the off season when people won't be back in their homes until the 2nd week of January at the earliest.

Just left Seaside. Cop turned us back at noon. We were not authorized or a resident. So much for that. Tuesday at noon
