Minor Injuries Result from Morning Accident

Two cars collide at intersection of Hooper and Mantoloking

Emergency responders treated two men for minor injuries following an accident Friday morning at the intersection of Hooper Avenue and Mantoloking Road.

According to Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard, a vehicle driven by Mark Jameson was traveling west on Cedar Bridge Avenue, crossing over Hooper Avenue, onto Mantoloking Road when another vehicle, driven by Carmen Maldanado, was in the left hand turn lane of Mantoloking Road, attempting to turn onto Hooper.

Both drivers had a green light and witnesses stated that the vehicle driven by Maldanado turned in front of Jameson, causing the crash, Reinhard said.

Both drivers were treated at the scene by Brick Police EMS for minor injuries. Firefighters were initially dispatched due to entrapment, but were called back prior to their arrival. Both vehicles had to be towed.

There's a lane for left turns only. Same on the opposite side . It states he was in that lane. Just carelessness. Need cameras.
