It's nice to see more volunteerism in different areas and people actually interesting in preserving our safety laws and resources instead of abusing them.

What gives these people the right to approach private boaters? Are they law enforcement officers? I hope they dont come up to my boat and start asking me questions
They should be called " River Rats ". If they look for injured animals, I've never seen any, and latent pollution thats fine. But when they start snooping around private citezens out on their boats, then they are River Rats. unless you are Marine Police, dont you worry about me or my boat.

How about just approaching the idiots on boats that don't have proper safety gear or who are not operating their boat safely for themselves, the other boaters, and the environment? Or would you rather wait until a serious incident happens and you have the Coast Guard, Police, and Fire Department around?
No offense, but since the River Guardians are a volunteer organization and you still have a big enough problem with them that you call them River Rats, then maybe you might want to check your safety gear, boat safely, and sober?
