Man Who Led Brick PD on Chase Arrested

Toms River man remains in Ocean County Jail

A Toms River man who led Brick police on a chase through the township and onto the Garden State Parkway has been arrested.

Dominic Nastasi, 24, of Oak Glenn Road, was arrested Sept. 19 in connection with his eluding police Sept. 15, Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard said Monday.

At 2 a.m. Sept 15, Officer Kris DeMarco attempted to pull over Nastasi on Route 88 after the officer observed him travelling at a high rate of speed near the Old Squan Road intersection, Reinhard said.

"He attempted to catch up to the vehicle, which led to a pursuit through town and eventually onto the Garden State Parkway," said Reinhard.

The driver exited the Parkway onto Route 37 West in Toms River, at which point the Brick officer broke off the pursuit since conditions made it to dangerous to continue, said Reinhard. Police spotted Nastasi after the chase, however he managed to slip away again, Reinhard said.

The license plate number of the vehicle in which Nastasi was driving was eventually tracked back to its owner in Manahawkin, at which point police learned the owner's daughter allowed Nastasi to use the car, Reinhard said, adding that Nastasi is throught to have been returning from a night out in Point Pleasant Beach when the pursuit occurred.

Police caught up to Nastasi during another motor vehicle stop – again on Route 88 in Brick – on Sept. 19 at 7:50 p.m. at which time he was placed under arrest, Reinhard said.

He was charged with eluding police, driving on a suspended license and a slew of motor vehicle offenses. He was also being sought on a warrant out of East Brunswick, said Reinhard.

A check of jail records early Tuesday morning shows Nastasi remains lodged at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. He is also being detained on a DWI charge, records show.

How DARE any of you pass judgement on a person you don't even know. Don't pass judgement unless you are prepared to have judgement passed onto you. Bobby Foley you don't know this man, so how can you call him a faggot. Look up the definition of a word before you ever use it you ignorant piece of trash.
