Local Man, 23, Charged With Stealing 1,000 Pound Lawn Ornament
Propeller came from fishing boat that sank
A 23-year-old Manchester man has been arrested following an investigation into a stolen 1,000-pound propeller.
Toms River Detective Marc Bajada charged Andrew White, 23, of 909 Wellington Avenue with theft. White was released on a summons after his arrest, police said.
The investigation found the 62-inch propeller was destroyed after it was sold for scrap for $900. The propeller, which was stolen from the front lawn of a residence on Arcadia Drive, Toms River, was a lawn ornament. The owner was a commercial fisherman and the propeller came from a boat of his that had sunk, according to Toms River Police Chief Mastronardy.
Tire marks were visible on the victim's lawn the following day from the vehicle that was used to commit the theft.

This is the BRICK Patch and the suspect is from Manchester, the victim lives in Toms River, and the Detective is also from Toms River, so the local man is whom?

Wow Jerry, Manchester seems pretty local to me. Don't get out much, Huh? This story also shows the initiative and can-do ability lacking in most Brick youth today.

We cover interesting local news, Jerry. A guy stealing a 1,000 pound boat propeller lawn ornament from a front yard in the next town struck me as being interesting and local.

Obviously, this prop was sentimental to the owner, enough to adorn his well manicured landscape. I hope this punk has to pay back alot more than the $900 scrap worth.

i happen to personally know the accused and from what i heard, the propeller was on the curb....i always thought that in NJ,people can take random items left on the curb unless its marked(or a car)...dont get me wrong...if i saw a hunk of gold lying on the curb in front of a persons house who i knew collected gold and/or precious metals...i'd aask the owner of the house if maybe they dropped it or something.i dont know much about scraooing but i do know that theres a lot of gray areas;id rather stick to selling organs on the black market and providing the extremely wealthy with aborted fetuses for blood money...lots and lots of blood money ;-).lol jk..for real though.cut the kid a break.he's a hard worker with great manners, which is more than i can say for most of the youth today.i am dissappointed to hear that he "stole" a propeler.i really hope it was a misjudgement as opposed to intentional theft.almost all these articles on "patch" and its extensions seem to me to be quite presumptuous.obviously they cant post libel, but they don't even provde the suspect's or convicted's side of the story.idk, maybe im too soft or biased myself, but think about it...how can someone be dumb enough to steal 900 bucks worth of brass and expect not to get busted? My friend isn't dumb.i genuinely believe he at least THOUGHT it was up for grabs.toodles.

All you have to do is look at the picture accompanying the story. It was theft, plain and simple.

the story even says how there was tire marks from where the propeller was. if it was "on or near the curb" why would he have to drive on to the yard to get to it? You and your friend are dumb.

Anyone who attempts to steal any of my lawn ornaments will be met with low brass.
