Fugitive Father Found, Charged With Pocketbook Pilfer

Second half of father/son purse-snatching duo arrested Wednesday

Wall Police have arrested the fugitive father involved in a recent purse snatching from a ShopRite parking lot, authorities said Wednesday.

Joseph Frystock, 56, around 2 p.m. Wednesay afternoon was found at a local medical center where he had been admitted, Lt. Walter Pomphrey said.

Pomphrey did not say which medical center, nor did he say why Frystock was admitted.

Frystock was arrested and charged with one count of third degree theft and one count of third degree conspiracy to commit theft. He was released after posting $15,000 bail, Pomphrey said.

Earlier this week, Frystock’s son, Matthew D. Frystock, 26, whose last known address was on Drum Point Road in Brick, was arrested at a motel in Ocean Township and charged for his connection with a recent purse snatching at the Route 34 ShopRite Supermarket at Lakewood Road.

The younger Frystock was taken to Monmouth County jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $15,000 bail, Pomphrey said.

The younger Frystock was located with the help of the Ocean Township police after a routine patrol spotted a car that matched a description associated with the purse snatching at the Chalet Motel on Route 35.

Additional charges are to come from the Toms River Police Department, police have said, because authorities there have linked him to a Feb. 12 pocketbook theft there.

It is not the first time a pair that a parent/child team has been arrested for stealing purses at local grocery stores. In July, a mother-daughter team also was arrested for purse snatching at the Route 34 ShopRite and other locations.

Wonder where the old man got the money for bail. Even at 10% he needed $1,500.00 , purse snatching must pa well. What a P.O.S.

Perfectly legal. Most times pictures are withheld at the request of the OC prosecutor's office in order to field an impartial jury.

You'd probably do better stealing Bar-b-q grills from a trailer park and selling them at the flea market... People these days, robbing innocent old ladies... Sweet bro!
