About 100 members of the community gathered near the Lakehurst home of Tierra Morgan-Glover, the toddler who was found dead Tuesday after being reported missing Monday. Tierra's grandmother, Michelle Simmons, addressed the crowd.

Arthur E. Morgan III, father of 2-year-old Tierra Morgan-Glover, on Monday was indicted on first-degree murder charges for the death of the toddler who was found dead in Shark River Park late last year, authorities said.

Morgan, 27, whose last known address was in Eatontown, was also indicted on third-degree interference with custody and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child charges, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Morgan faces a maximum of five years in prison if convicted of the custody charge; 10 years on the endangerment charge and life in prison on the murder charge, since Tierra was less than 14 years old at the time of her death, according to the Prosecutor's Office.

Morgan is in the Monmouth County Jail in lieu of $10 million bail and $200,000 stemming from the Ocean County charges, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Tierra Morgan-Glover was found by a group of teenagers submerged in a portion of the Shark River below Schoolhouse Road on Nov. 22. She was reported missing the day before.

The events started a nationwide manhunt for her father, ending Nov. 29 in San Diego, Calif., when U.S. Marshals arrested Morgan at a relative's home.

Morgan had taken the girl out on an agreed-upon visitation on Nov. 21. When he failed to bring the child back to her Lakehurst home, her mother contacted authorities. A two-county search began, the Prosecutor's Office said.

Tierra was found strapped to her car seat face down in the shallow water. Prosecutor's have alleged that the seat was weighted down with a car jack and that she was alive before the girl was thrown into the river.

First off, when he's sentenced part of his sentencing should be the disavowing of him "embracing God" and feeling he is forgiven. Sorry folks, just don't buy that BS anymore. There are certain crimes that whatever God you believe in are unforgivable. This is one of them. He should also be charged for the effect he's had on the kids lives who found the poor child. He is a monster. Death is too good for him. If he has any shred of decency, he should be forced to look at pix of what he did every remaining day of his life.

Amen! So agree. They go to jail and all of a sudden become holy rollers. BS for sure. He has no decency, even being forced to look at pic everyday probably would not phase him. He has no conscious. Makes me sick.

Penalties in this country are a joke. With no death penalty, he will get his 3 hots and a cot, tv, access to a weight bench, books if he chooses to study for a degree, and will be encouraged to find God. Gee, thats more than a lot of non-baby killers have. That is not justice for that poor little child.

He will most likly be on PC, Criminals do not take kindly to Child abusers ( or worse cold hearted killers of young children) He most likly will be in lockdown for 23 hrs a day. While our taxes are paying for him I have a good feeling they where ANYWAY while he was a free man, at least now he's behind bars for the rest of his life,,, NJ really need to consider the death penalty for this type of crime as well as People that kill police... He really is the scum of the earth ... I want to vomit everytime I hear about what he did. I havemt been able to bring myself or 3 kids to that park since this happened...

Don't worry, when the prison population finds out what he did they'll tie him up and drown him in the prison john! Sad mom is most likely correct, he'll cost us millions in private confinement and need a special guard just to exercise and shower. Someone will get him, just like Dahmer.

Not only was she a toddler....she was HIS toddler. She was his daughter. His own flesh and blood. Let the mother of the child tie him to a chair and dump him in Shark River with cement blocks on top. Everyone would help her. He is pure evil. This little girl called him Daddy. He is not a man ...death is the only answer for him. Wonder how his Fathers Day went. R.I.P. Tierra.

I agree we do need the death penalty to many killings now a days!! It just turns my stomach to know he will get 3 hot meals a day...I say an eye for an eye! Truly a sad sorry and my heart goes out to the teens that found her. I know I would never be able to sleep again after that... may GOD bless those teens!!
