County, Brick, Lakewood Cops Seize Drugs, Cash, Weapons; 7 Arrested

Arrest is culmination of prosecutor's office investigation

The execution of a search warrant last Friday night yielded a cache of drugs, two weapons and $1,000 cash, authorities said, and resulted in seven arrests.

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Special Operations Group, along with members of the Lakewood and Brick Township police departments executed the warrants at houses at 1200 Jeffrey Street and 1405 Marshall Street in Lakewood, a statement from Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said. Police also executed search warrants on two vehicles, specifically, a 2006 gray Hyundai Sonata and a 2003 silver Mercury sedan.

The homes and vehicles were identified in an investigation as being utilized to facilitate a drug distribution operation, Ford said.

The searches led police to seize a quantity of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and pills. Police also seized approximately $1000 in cash and two handguns, including a loaded Beretta .380 caliber semi- automatic pistol and a Davis Industries .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

The .380 caliber Davis Industries handgun had also been "defaced in an attempt to avoid identification by law enforcement," the statement said.

Those charged at the Jeffrey Street residence included:

  • Raheem Montgomery, 19, of Lakewood. Montgomery was charged with possession of possession of Xanax pills, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest. Superior Court Judge James Blaney set bail at $20,000 cash.
  • Xavier Nieves, 19 of Tuckerton. Nieves was charged with possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a loaded defaced firearm - specifically, a .380 caliber Davis Industries semi automatic handgun. Blaney set bail for Nieves at $50,000 cash.
  • Yajira Gomez, 37, of Lakewood. Gomez was charged with possession of Oxycodone and possession of Oxycodone with intent to distribute. Gomez was released on a summons

Those charged at the Marshall Street residence included:

  • Terrence Tenner, 23, of Lakewood. Tenner was charged with possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of synthetic marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a loaded firearm - specifically, a .380 caliber Beretta semi automatic handgun during the commission of a drug offense. Blaney set bail for Tenner at $100,000 cash.
  • Mathew Tenner, 25, of Lakewood. Mathew Tenner was charged with possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blaney set bail for Mathew Tenner at $75,000 cash.
  • Taneeka Myers, 21, of South Toms River. Myers was charged with possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Myers was released on a summons.
  • Karen Gorman, 22, of Howell. Gorman was charged with possession of cocaine under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin under one half ounce with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Gorman was released on a summons.

Assisiting in the investigation were the Lakewood Township Police Street Crimes Unit, the Lakewood Township Police ESU Team, the Brick Township Police SERT team and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit.
