Construction on New Bank Building Set to Begin

Investors Savings Bank ready to move into town

Investors Savings Bank will build a 6,400 square foot branch in Brick, the company announced this week.

The bank operates about 85 branches across New Jersey and New York, and will build its Brick location at the corner of Brick Boulevard and Hooper Avenue.

The construction of the branch, which will be two stories tall, was approved earlier this year by the township's planning board.

The branch will be constructed by Hollister Construction Services, which maintains an office in Hasbrouck Heights. That company said Wednesday that it will construct a roof, interior domes, a drive-thru area and an exterior insulation finishing system using precast concrete. The building will feature a brick veneer and an "elaborate glass facade."

With work being so scarce I wonder why a local company is not building this.

This company probably builds all their branches and is familiar with it's modular design and assembly....which will save them labor costs because they will complete it quicker. Can't fault them for that...no different than a chain restaurant when they bring in a crew from Omaha (ex.) to build them all around the country.

You're right though, would have been nice to see a local company out there...hopefully they will utilize some local resources during it's construction...site contractor, plumber, electrician, landscape contractor, etc...

Gary -- You're correct. This company builds many (if not almost all) of their branches, at least the larger ones. They just completed one in Brooklyn and are now moving to the Brick project.

Why can't they use the empty bank building on Lanes Mill? Or any of the myriad of other empty buildings? Anytime I have any relatives visit from other parts of the state they always say: "Brick is a little over-developed, right?" Does every square foot of trees need to be plowed down and have another chain store or ugly bank plopped in the middle of it?

Does Brick need more Banks?...No

Does Brick need more rateables?...Yes

Think about it, what drains the Township coffers?...single family housing....not commercial buildings.

I believe, and I could be wrong, that the site is at the corner of Brick Blvd/Old Hooper, in front of where Buffalo Wild Wings is about to open.

Liberal Crusader -- You're correct. It will be in that corner. We all call it "Old Hooper" but for articles, we have to use the proper "Hooper Avenue." I know sometimes people get it mixed up with what we all know as "real" Hooper in TR.

A White Castle is being proposed for the same general area, just another lot. They've scheduled it to go before the Planning Board a number of times, but the company has requested pushing it back time and time again. We've been keeping after it.

Until Chick-Fil-A stops their active discrimination, I won't be spending a dime there, and I urge everyone to do the same.

Drug store @ the old Red Lion??!!! Yeah that's a REAL dumb one! So sad that Botazzi's son sold out!! That could have just been modernized a bit...still had plenty of business! A great Landmark gone to another drugstore. Very very sad!
