Brielle Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect
White, 20-something male allegedly robbed man at gunpoint overnight
Brielle Police said they are searching for a man believed to have committed an armed robbery overnight in the borough.
The suspect displayed a silver semi-automatic handgun during the robbery of a male victim that took place shortly after midnight Friday on northbound Route 35 at the base of the bridge to Point Pleasant Beach, according to a release from Brielle Police.
Police described the suspect as a white male in his mid-to-late 20s, between 5-feet 5-inches and 5-feet 7-inches tall, with a slim build, short brown hair and a fair complexion.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing wearing a blue or black coat, dark blue jeans, and a baseball cap with a white brim, white front and black all around the back, and either a capital letter "E" or "F" on the front, the release says.
Police are currently reviewing surveillance video, as a vehicle may have been involved, the release says.
