Brick Resident Indicted on Forgery Charge

Monmouth County Grand Jury hands down indictment

 

John E. Dew, a 39-year-old Brick resident was indicted on two counts by a Monmouth County Grand Jury this week.

Dew was indicted on one count of third degree uttering a forged instrument - the legal term used for a charge of signing another person's name to a document. According to the indictment, on or about May 10 Dew is alleged to have attempted to use counterfeit money in Howell Township.

Dew was also indicted on one count of third degree theft by deception for attempting to illegally get gift cards and merchandise worth more than $500 from the Walmart.
