Brick Police Will Accept Unused Prescription Drugs Saturday

Residents can drop drugs off at the department's headquarters

Brick residents can drop off unused prescription drugs at township police headquarters on Saturday, according to Capt. John Rein.

The department will accept unused or expired prescription and over the counter medications at the department's front desk in the municipal complex at 401 Chambers Bridge Road from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents are advised to remove any labels with their identification, Rein said. Liquid medications will be accepted in their original, sealed containers. No syringes or sharps will be accepted.

The collection event is part of an ongoing effort across New Jersey to prevent unused drugs from getting into the hands of criminals, and also to prevent medications from being flushed down toilets and into the water supply.
