Brick Police Searching for Suspect in Two Armed Robberies
Convenience stores robbed Sunday morning, cops say
Brick police are searching for a suspect in two armed robberies that occurred in town early Sunday morning.
The 7-Eleven store on Route 88 and the Wawa on Lanes Mill Road were both robbed by a man with a knife. Police suspect the same person is responsible for both robberies.
The first of the two robberies occurred at the 7-Eleven at about 4:20 a.m., said Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard. At that time, a person wearing a ski mask entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded money from the store employee.
As the store employee began to turn over money to the suspect, he attempted to pull the ski mask off the suspect, said Reinhard.
"The suspect then raised the knife towards the employee," said Reinhard, in a statement, but "the employee retreated into the office, at which time the suspect fled with no proceeds."
The second robbery occurred a short time later, about 5:20 a.m., at the Wawa located at 6 Lanes Mill Road. The suspect in that robbery also brandished a knife, Reinhard said, but fled with no money after the store employee activated an alarm.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old, 5-foot-8 inches to 5-foot-10 inches tall with black hair with shaved sides. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Reinhard said the man may be operating a blue, four-door Dodge Dakota pickup truck.
Photos may be released when they become available, said Reinhard.
Anyone with information is being urged to contact Detective Daniel Waleski from the Brick Township Police Department Investigations Unit at 732-262-1120 or the main police number, 732-262-1100.

My bet is its the same kid who robbed the bank a couple of weeks ago, We have a president who is all about serving himself while our economy tanks even more.....

You know, it's not just drug addicts that rob places. Every time one of these stories come out, people automatically assume it was a drug addict. I know PLENTY of drug addicts, including a few guys I grew up with, and not one of them has ever robbed a bank or a convenience store. Being addicted to drugs doesn't automatically make you a criminal. Some drug addicts are soccer moms. Some drug addicts are single dads. Some drug addicts are the very same doctors you visit to get medical help. Don't get me wrong, there ARE drug addicts that rob stores and banks, but they are the extreme minority. You wouldn't like it if every time someone did something stupid, everybody automatically blames a blonde, or a black person, so quit feeding the stereotypes.

When they can't gain access to their "GOD" Drugs, you may see something quite different...And if they did pull off a robbery or some other crime to gain access to to the funding of their habit do you think they would let you know they did the it? I think not. Druggies need help and until they find themselves face down in dog crap in some unknown gutter on a rainy morning not knowing how they got there they won't seek it out by themselves. They will lie cheat and steal to get what they want.

In this day and age of digital cameras, 1080p HD TV's and Iphones that take better pictures than my fathers old Nikon, why are surveillance cameras so crummy? Most surveillance photos are fuzzy and out of focus, like they were taken by a five year old with an old Kodak Brownie. If I were these store owners, I'd want my money back.

NJ Ghost, if it was an addict that needed money to get a fix, there's no way he's leaving without money twice. And yes, addicts WOULD tell me if they robbed a place, it's called a 4th and 5th Step. In a state with the unemployment rate that's through the roof, the highest cost of living in the nation, and no sign of improving, it's sad that you pin every robbery on a group if people who are sick. What's it like being a Saint and looking down on the rest of us? Let me know when it starts raining. You'll see it before everyone else from way up there in your ivory tower. It's nice that you can reach those conclusions and voice them without one microscopic shred of evidence to support your claim. Guess addicts are guilty until proven innocent. How many people do you look down on that have Lupus?

>>Guess addicts are guilty until proven innocent. <<
Well...
stereo types aside...if someone is using an illegal substance, aren't they guilty of a crime already?
I have no bone to grind with addicts, but I also wouldn't quite defend them as some sort of "oppressed" group. I'm not saying they committed this particular crime, but some addicts do rob to support their habits .
Since I have found just about zero mercy post-Sandy for law abiding citizens, I have a hard time shedding a tear for those who's illness often causes harm for others. There is some culpability there no matter how many steps lead to their recovery. The high cost of living and unemployment rate is a burden for us all, not just those afflicted with a disease. Albeit it makes it harder.
And I do wish them recovery...and perhaps also an emphasis on the steps that encourage reparations to others they may have harmed. I hope some future gene therapy an help them and likewise I hope many (all) of them repay the damages their illnesses have caused others.
As for Lupus...I wish those poor folks health and happiness. Also a cure. I never heard of a person with Lupus holding up anyone. In their case, there would be no need for reparations and thus the lack of a stereo type against Lupus-robbery. While addiction is an illness, it is certainly not the same thing.
