Brick Man Indicted in Sex Assault on Child

A 31-year-old Brick man has been indicted by a Monmouth County grand jury on charges he sexually assaulted a child.

Franklin Ercolano, Jr., a Greenwood Loop resident, is alleged to have sexually assaulted a minor, whose name was not identified, on various dates between March and June 2009.

The alleged assaults took place in Tinton Falls, according to the indictment.

The indictment states the child was between the ages of 11 and 12 at the time, and Ercolano violated the law by engaging in sexual contact with him or her. Grand jurors also indicted Ercolano on a charge of endangering the welfare of the same child.

Jail records showed Ercolano was not currently in custody.
