Brick Man Dies in Point Boro Car Accident

Man had crashed into traffic light and utility pole

A 75-year-old Brick man died after crashing his car into a traffic light and utility pole at the corner of Bridge and Bay avenues, said Police Chief Larry Williams.

"The Point Pleasant Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident which occurred last evening about 9:35 p.m.," Williams said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, where he was transported by the Point Boro First Aid Squad, he said.

"The victim, who was alone at the time of the accident, struck the control box for the traffic light as well as a utility pole," Williams said.

The accident is being investigated by Police Officer Brad McNally and Detective Michelle Hill.

The man's name is not being released yet.

Thanks Lew for your expert eyewitness commentary. It's fortunate that you can tell us what exactly occurred being that you were at the scene. A heart attack or some other health problem maybe? Think before you rant. Like the old saying goes: It's better to keep silent and let people think you might be a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. You sound just like one of the thousands of pissed off seniors, mad at the world living in Brick.
