Brick Man Dies From Injuries Sustained in Weekend Accident
Waleed Emara, 23, had been driving on Cherry Quay Road
One of the two Brick men hospitalized after a Saturday morning accident on Cherry Quay Road has died, officials confirmed.
Waleed Emara, 23, died Sunday at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, after sustaining injuries when his 2009 Infiniti G37 crashed on Cherry Quay Road just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
Friends of Emara had set up a memorial page on Facebook as of Monday that included information on religious services.
Emara's passenger in the Infiniti, 21-year-old Steven Wilson, was also hospitalized at Jersey Shore following the accident. He remains in critical condition there, hospital officials said Monday afternoon.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by police. That investigation most likely will be completed this week, said Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard.
Police have reported that according to witnesses interviewed by authorities, Emara's car was observed passing them and traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash.

I hope all of the youngsters, daredevils, and reckless drivers take a good look at that young man's picture. One minute he was alive, the next minute he was gone. If anything, hopefully, this young man's death will make other kids not do foolish things.

Waleed was a good kid, it's a shame he did something so stupid, but we all make mistakes.
