Brick Bonds Another $15M for Sandy Cleanup
Majority of funds will be reimbursed by FEMA
The township council approved a $15 million bonding measure at its meeting Tuesday night as an emergency appropriation to fund Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts.
"There are certain things that the county didn't take on with the shared services [agreement]," said Business Administrator Scott Pezarras. "We had a lot of other operations, including security operations, on public property but not in the public right of ways" which was not covered.
Pezarras said depending on the final cost of the township's recovery spending, not all of the $15 million may be used. The township will be reimbursed 75 percent for its recovery spending through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The $15 million will also be used for additional cleanup and recovery efforts as they go on, including dune restoration and further debris cleanup of areas that received heavy damage.

Why do I feel the money will just disappear instead of relieving residents of an increase in property taxes we all know is coming. I am at the breaking point of not making the monthly bills, which have already been pared down to the staples. We have even gone into a poverty mode in food shopping: lots of hamburger helper, soup and grilled cheese, rice and beans, etc. We don't have car payments and have downgraded our cable service as well.
This is the result of keeping my job, but at the end of 5 1/2 years with no pay raises and shifted cost of healthcare / reductions in benefits to where I make substantially less than I did back to 2007. I have an entry level home that I entered into a mortgage back then that I could afford. I have worked 30+ years as a tax Payer, not a tax Taker. I guess the new normal is the lower middle class are most definitely the working poor.

that's the Obama way... his goal is to get as many people on Gvmt asst. as possible. & PS have you seem how the gas prices increased since he was sworn in. The only people that are doing better since he's been in office are the people collect the " complete Welfare package" the rest of us that pay for them are struggling & because we are the responsible ones

BHO has absolutely no idea how to turn the economy around and I have no idea what is going to happen to us the Worker Bees, and as for us who have been hit by the storm I don’t know why there haven’t been reports of suicides yet!

You need to keep cutting as Pezzaras expects you to not only pay for your health benefits but his families too. Heck he is only paid 200,000+benefits+pension by the taxpayers, we all know he could have made so much more if he wasn't a public servant.
So stop complaining , you haven't cut enough .... Pezzaras recommends Purina cat food as his choice.
Seriously , you are falling further and further behind and I am sorry to say it is only going to get worse. Unless you do something about it NOW !!!!!
Property tax revolt is the only peaceful answer I see. Stop handing your money over to public servants who have better pay , better benefits and better retirements than THE PEOPLE WHO PAY THEM !!!!!!
