Baywood Electrical Repairs Expected to be Completed Thursday Evening
Transformers blew during Wednesday's repowering
Repairs to electrical transformers that blew during the repowering of a Brick neighborhood are expected to be completed around 6 p.m. Thursday night.
"They're over there now and they're fixing it," said Mayor Stephen C. Acropolis around 5 p.m.
Rounds of inspections required by Jersey Central Power and Light before the utility would turn the power back on in several township neighborhoods were completed by Wednesday night, but when crews went to repower the area, two transformers blew, the mayor said.
The issue has mainly affected the Baywood neighborhood, which has been out of power since Hurricane Sandy struck.

Well that was to be expected seeing how Thomas Edison installed them himself. The entire system in Baywood is 40 years over due for an upgrade. That goes for all the older watetfront communities in town as well. My power goes out on a calm day in Cedarcroft if I sneeze too loud! I am soo happy a class action suit has been filed against JCP&L. God Bless the lineman but GPU Energy can go to hell!

I live off of Princeton. Just wanted to let you all know that I know the pain and that we will all stand by you until your power is restored. We got our asses kicked with this storm. We will rebuild like real Americans. Not beg for assistance.
I expect the all efforts in this township to be focused on restoring power for these folks. We wont rest or forget until they are.
