Authorities were clearing an accident from the intersection of routes 70 and 88 in Brick where a vehicle reportedly overturned Thursday night.

The accident was first reported just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday. By 10 p.m., police had blocked off several lanes of Route 70 and were directing eastbound traffic onto Princeton Avenue. Residual delays remained at several other Route 70 intersections since re-routed traffic was trying to make its way back onto the state highway. The entire intersection was closed.

A tow truck was observed removing a heavily-damaged vehicle from the intersection. Multiple ambulances, including one from Point Pleasant Beach, were responding to the scene.
