Went To The Giants' Celebrations? Tell Us About It

The Giants held a parade in Manhattan and a celebration at MetLife Stadium on Tuesday. Did you go?

Two Tuesday celebrations - one in New Jersey and one in New York City - commemorated the Giants win over the Patriots in the Super Bowl on Tuesday.

We want to know who went, and we'd like to hear about your experiences, whether you went to the city or up to the Meadowlands.

The celebration began with a parade in New York that, according to WPIX, started at 11 a.m. at Battery Place and Washington Street and went through the Canyon of Heroes to Worth Street.

A ceremony was then held at City Hall, where the members of Big Blue will receive keys to the city.

Gov. Chris Christie announced on Monday that a separate rally would be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. for the Giants at their home stadium.

If you went, we'd love to hear your stories and see your pictures.

American soldiers and their families deserve a parade and much more. The sacrifices they have made for this Nation merit recognition and appreciation.

First I would like to say yes our Veterans do deserve the praise for all of the sacrifices that they have made, but I do want to point out that NYC does have a Veteran's day parade every year this year it is November 11. It is a great parade and a great way for us to say thanks for all of their dedication to our country.

"Canyon of Heroes" that's what they call it, right? The Gemini 3 & Apollo 11 astronauts, Charles Lindbergh, Gen. Douglas MacArthur, Gen. Eisenhower, Admiral Byrd, and veterans of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, & Desert Storm are heroes...and all were welcomed in a ticker-tape parade down Broadway. I don't think that anything that Derek Jeter and Eli Manning do could be categorized as "heroic". Give the Iraq vets their own parade.

All this talk about vets deserving a parade is nonsense. It's a parade people - a few hours of cheers and then it's over. What vets actually deserve is the top healthcare, job placement (if needed), and support services. Forget the parade, real support for vets is listening to their requests and supporting their needs to continue their lives after they've sacrificed much for our country. If these blowhard politicians really appreciated vets they'd slash their cushy salaries and retirement benefits and increase the dollars going to services for vets. A parade is just window dressing.

Isn't the 1st amendment wonderful? Thanks to our vets, we still have a bill of rights. The parade isn't for any politicians...it is for our vets, their families, and for average citizens as away to show their appreciation. Its a shame we live in society where people think such displays of thanks and patriotism are "nonsense" and "window dressing". Instead of pissing way $80 on an NFL jersey, make a donation to a worthy veterans charity.

A parade is nonsense when compared to real world needs. It's like giving someone a pat on the back when what they really need is a raise or better benefits. What good is a parade when you have vets (a good number with life-changing injuries) who need real support from the government. A parade doesn't put food on the table and doesn't give you a job. Showing appreciation in a parade is nice - it just doesn't solve any of a person's real-world issues.

...I guess you missed my link to the highest-rated charities that help our vets in need? Parades are only "dumb" when they celebrate false heroes.

There are so few things to celebrate these days, do people really have to mock every little thing. Let them have their parade and move on. Not that big a deal. They do it for every superbowl winner. These days people need a little something to make them smile. Let it go.

Too bad the parade didn't pass by Zuccotti Park. A float full of wealthy athletes would have received a "warm" welcome.

AS a veteran myself, I'm happy to hear all the support, however we don't the MAJORITY of us don't feel neglected, we feel as America does support us. Times have changed, the military pays me for my service connected disabilities and gives me free medical and prescriptions for the rest of my life. On that note, as a Giants fan lets hear about some of the great stories from the Giants parade!!!
