New York Times profiled many of the locals who perished
The heartache of the Sept. 11 attacks, remembered anew after news of Osama bin Laden's death, stretches into Ocean County. Here, residents from Toms River, Brick, Waretown and elsewhere died as a result of the terrorist attacks.

Putting all politics aside for this heart wrenching anniversary, I thought the memorial service this evening at Windward Beach was a very good thing and made me proud of our town. God Bless the families of those who have fallen. We will not forget.
