Access to Brick Barrier Island Neighborhoods Closed Thursday

Wind, flooding to blame

The Brick Township Office of Emergency Management has closed the Brick Township portion of the barrier island Thursday due to flooding and high winds, police said.

"We will continue to monitor the situation and once the flooding and winds subside and it is deemed safe, we will announce the re-opening of the Brick Township portion of the barrier island," said Brick Police Sgt. Keith Reinhard.
